3x3=???

My oldest really enjoys math. Which is great because I'm pretty much like the kid in the above comic. Anyway, he was really excited to finally be doing multiplication and has been practicing his flash cards all day. He asked me to test him. After about 10 min. of torture (for me) I said, "Take the rest to dad and have him test you." "Why?" he asks. "Because it is making me sleepy. Sorry math does this to me." To which he responds, "You must have had a boring teacher back in the olden days."

The Office did it again! Way to give the people what they want. What can I say...BRAVO!! It was so great watching the little stolen moments between PB&J (Pam Beesly and Jim). Love Kevin, he saw right through them. They were just SO cute. I screamed so loud when they kissed. Go team Jam!!

Of course no Office season would be complete without Michael. What would they do? One thing, they wouldn't be running for rabies, the silent killer. No, the foaming barking killer. And lets not forget that he isn't superstitious, just a little stitious. The things he says makes me laugh so hard. And for the record, I'm not very stitious.

I've Arrived!!

Two flights and 10 hours later I'm here in Nashville, TN with my friend Megan of My Lif'e's Miracles. Her house is even better in person! Great decor that she most definatly needs to take a picture of and post. Perhaps we will take care of that while I'm here! More details coming soon.... So stay tuned!

Tag, I'm It!

1.) What I was doing ten years ago: Sept. of 97 we just moved to Logan Utah where we were attending Utah State. We had SO much fun during this time in our lives.

2.) Five years ago: Sept. of 02 we had a new born. Our Korbin was 3 months old and Brekkon was 3. Hard to think of them at that age. I was doing a preschool swap with 4 other moms. I was just enjoying my small family and being a SAHM!

3) One year ago: Sept. of 06 we were selling our house to move. We just put it on the market. I remember being VERY stressed trying to keep it all clean with three boys. My Garrik was almost 1 then. It was also a very sad time in my life knowing that I would soon be leaving all my wonderful friends.

4.) Yesterday: Sunday, went to church and had to teach the lesson in YW. That was stressful. Then my friend Sherise came over to give Blake some cookies for teaching her husbands class at church. While here we looked at houses online and talked about the upcoming program in YW (Young Women's).

5.) 5 snacks I enjoy: apples, cheese, crackers, oranges, grapes

6.) 5 Things I would do if I suddenly had $100 million: I would buy a house!! Invest a lot of it. Get a boat and all the fun toys to go along with it. Have a time share for a house boat at Lake Powell. Travel, travel, travel and shop, shop, shop!!!

7.) 5 locations I would like to run away to: Europe, Africa, Hawaii, Australia, Spain

8.) 5 bad habits I have: procrastination, not finishing projects, I forget things, I get bored easy, Interrupting

Soccer Has Started

The season is officially off and we have had a good start so far. I forgot the camera for our first game but brought it along for the second. Blake is couching Korbins team. The team name is Scorpion Sharks. Apparently half the kids wanted Scorpion and the other half Sharks. So to make them all happy my hubby decided to combine the two names. Clever!

So far this season the Scorpion Sharks are undefeated. All the boys practice hard and really have a great time out on the field. Blake is having a blast coaching and all the kids seem to really like him.

A few practice kicks into the goal before the game starts. And a MUST have accessory for all games. Seriously buying that umbrella at the start of summer was the best thing ever. I have used it SO much here.

Where Were You Six Years Ago Today?

We were living in Ft. Worth, Texas at the time. I had just gotten into my car to head for work and take Brekkon to daycare. As I was backing out of my driveway I heard it on the radio announced by Kidd Kraddick. At first it was reported that it was a small commuter plan. Then that a United Airlines plane had crashed into the towers. They still were not reporting a terrorist attack. I had just pulled into my sons daycare when the second plan hit. I remember sitting in the car just in shock. Why would anyone want to do this? Reporters started saying that this was a Terrorist attack on us. Terrorist?? That word formed a new meaning.

The only reason why I even went to work that day was because I was one block from my son. I dropped him off and the workers had it on in the office real low. They didn't want to worry any of the children and I was grateful for that. I went to work and things proceeded somewhat normal. I remember I was working on some files that were set to close that day when I heard, "Oh my God! The building just fell!" It was one of my coworkers who was watching the TV. We all ran into the break room and just stood there numb. We continued to watch, bringing our work into the break room. Then it happened, the second tower fell. That is when I lost it. I just cried for so long. We have family in New York and many of them work in Manhattan. I was so worried for them. I couldn't believe that people hated our country so much that they would do this to the innocent. It hit me how much hatred there was in the world. After that I left and got my son and headed home. By then the planes were almost all grounded. It was such an eerie feeling not hearing them flying overheard.

The news about the Pentagon and flight 93 was just so horrifying. I felt so horrible for all those people and their families. The pain they must be feeling. I still feel the same anger and confusion that I felt 6 years ago.

I want to thank all those in the Armed forces who are out fighting against these Terrorist. I thank them for loving our country enough to give all they have for it. God Bless the USA and God Bless Our Soldiers and their families!

Down and Derby

It's that time of year again for the pinewood derby. I have decided, based on my observation, that the pinewood derby is 99.9% for the dads and about .1% for the scouts.

At first I was a little annoyed at my dh for doing all the work. I honestly couldn't believe how much time he put into this car. From the day we got the block of wood out came the designs. Once that was decided on (yes Brekkon did have a say in that) then came the fun part, painting the car. Well, what does my hubby do? He takes it to get professionally painted. Yes, you read that right. There is a guy in our church that paints cars for a living and he said he would be willing to paint any scouts car. Well like my dh is going to pass up a deal like that. So over they go to get the car painted. I feel that I must add that my son did come up with the paint design.

Now, as I said I was at first upset that my hubby didn't really let Brekkon do much on the car; however, once I took a look at all the other cars I realized that not one of these scouts got to even so much as touch the block of wood that would soon become their car. I overheard some dads talking about where they placed the weights in hopes that it would go faster. But what was most amusing was watching what my dh did once the weighing in was done. He added the "secret" weapon...lubricant on the wheels to make the car go faster. Seriously it was like I was watching the movie Down and Derby, only not quite to that extreme.

Once the final touches were added to the cars the races were on the way. It really was fun to watch the scouts get exciting whenever their car would win. Here are a few pictures from that night.

Baby Blues

"G-pers creepers, where'd you get those peepers?

Where'd you get those eyes?"

This is the song often song to our little G-man. I have ALWAYS loved blue eyes. Not sure why that is. Growing up I remember looking at my dads eyes and just wishing I had eyes just like him. While pregnant with my first two I would hope that they would have blue eyes. They both have brown eyes like me. And beautiful big brown eyes at that. But I still didn't have my blue eyed baby. Then came my G-man. His eyes looked different from the start. But I refused to get my hopes up too high. Yet, the older he got his eyes never changed. I would have dreams (truth be told, nightmares) that I'd get him in the morning and his eyes would be brown. Crazy, I know!! But my sweet G-man has the most beautiful baby blues I've ever seen. Of course I'm biased.

So how did the song come into play? My oldest heard it on Sesame Street and started to sing it to Garrik and it just sort of stuck. Not to mention that whenever people see me with him they look at him, then back at me, then back at him and finally ask "Where did he get his blue eyes?"

What crazy feature did you want for at least one of your kids?

Boys Will Be Boys....

As I was picking my boys up from school, the Principal informed me that my oldest put a grasshopper down his younger brothers shirt. Normally she wouldn't care but apparently Korbin was really freaking out. Of course, as she is telling me this my Brekkon pips up from the back of the van, "Yeah, but it was really funny!" She then notices that I have a third boy and just laughs and says, "Looks like your life is going to be full of dirt and bugs for a long time." On the way home Korbin asks if he can put a bug down Brekkons' shirt. I tell him sure!

Today as I was volunteering for recess I notice Brekkon and 3 other boys head around the school. A few minutes later they come back with something in their hands. They head over to a group of girls jump roping and proceed to scare them with grasshoppers. To the boys delight they were met with a bunch of loud screams.

Makes me think if this poem has some truth to it.

What are little boys made of?

Welcome Megan

For a long time now I have begged and pleaded with her to start a blog. I have told her how much fun it is and of all the great people you get to meet.
