Nice

We were eating a messy bowl of raviolis for lunch today and talking about how many words Garrik can say. Then Brekkon mentions that he loves how Gman says nice (niiie -he drags out the "i" and leaves off the "c") and that he thinks it is cute that Garrik always pats his head while saying it. Well we all look at Gman and he has his hands up and starts to say "niie" while patting his head with his nasty dirty hands. All I can do is just sit and laugh and of course take some pictures!

Garrik says, "Niie"

Continues to wipe on his face.

And we have the "niie" finished product.

Zions National Park

We really had a great time here on Memorial Day. These pictures were taken at the Temple of Sinawava. It is absolutly breath taking. Their is a trail that leads to a beautiful waterfall but we didn't dare attempt it with the baby.
Our family at the Weeping Rock without Garrik. He stayed below with Nana while we took the short hike up to the rocks.

Weeping Rock, Zions National Park

On Memorial Day we spent the day hiking around Zions National Park. One of the spots we visited is called Weeping Rock. There isn't a body of water around but yet water falls from the rocks. They say that these particular rocks act like sponges when it rains. It takes thousands of years for the water to make it through the rocks and out. According to their calculations the water that is currently coming out is from Noah's time, from the flood. So I had Noah water fall on my head that day. Kind of interesting.

Don't wish your life away.

Why do kids long to be adults, to be big? I ask this question yet I remember when I was younger and wanting so badly to be "big". Now I have a son that is the same way. He says to me he wants to be an adult. Funny how that is. My mom used to tell me "Don't wish your life away". Now thinking back to my childhood I wish I hadn't been in such a hurry to grow up. I want to tell my boys to just enjoy this time in your life. Be a kid and have fun. There is plenty of time of growing up. I guess as parents you just want to hold on to your children for as long as you can. I see how handsome my boys are getting everyday and sometimes I find myself thinking what they will be like as teens. Then I remember my mothers simple words of wisdome, "Don't wish your life away".

Growing up

Our middle son Korbin just had his preschool graduation on May 21st. He is very excited to go to Kidergarten and getting to eat lunch at school. He keeps asking me if he is big now. I tell him that he is getting bigger everyday but he will always be my sweet little boy.

Tuff Kids Triathlon

Our oldest son competed in the St. George Tuff Kids Triathlon on May 19th. We are very proud of his hard work in getting ready for the race. I helped him train in the running and Blake did the biking and swimming. All the kids had a great time and everyone got a gold medal just for finishing. After the race he turned to us and said he would like to do it again next year. And from this he has also discovered that he loves to go mountain biking.
